His job is to protect her. Not fall for her.

A man of honor…

Former Navy SEAL Rick Thornton runs his own security company. He’ll go the extra mile to protect a client. He’s engaged to be married to a woman he likes well enough, because it’s time to settle down.

But when he starts guarding Francesca whose family has received a death threat, doing the right thing has never been so difficult.

A woman in need…

Francesca Martin is a gentle young woman who works for a children’s charity. Her controlling, twice-her-age lover is relentless in his demands, in bed and out, in ways that make her blush…but if he wants her so much, he must love her. Mustn’t he?

Rick is completely different. Kind, protective, strong, sexy–but he’ll never be hers. No matter how he makes her feel.

A growing threat…

As Francesca and Rick battle their growing attraction, and her lover’s sexual demands grow ever darker and more humiliating, Francesca is in more danger than ever from all sides. Can Rick identify the culprit before Francesca pays with her life? And will he and Francesca realize that sometimes, the wrong person is really the right one?

Note: The love story in this standalone novel unwinds against a backdrop of dark domination and steamy scenes sure to make your knees weak and set your heart pounding. For mature readers only.

Here’s a sample of “The Wrong Guy” to enjoy…

“Did you have a pleasant lunch?” I ask Francesca. I can’t help it. For some reason, I want to embarrass her. I know exactly the kind of lunch she’s had. Her lipstick is smeared and her hair just a little messed up and her blouse that was tucked in so neatly is no longer tucked into her skirt… oh, and something else.

“Your blouse isn’t buttoned up right. I’d straighten that out before we get back to the office if I were you.”

I hear her breath hitch, and her face is beet red.

“Sorry, I thought it was better if I told you than have the whole office wondering what you got up to at lunchtime.”

“It’s none of your business what I get up to.”

“No, it’s not. Not unless it compromises your safety. Do you feel safe with him?”

“Yes, he cares about me.”

I doubt Adam cares about anyone but himself, but I keep my thoughts to myself. She won’t want to hear them, not after spending the last half hour the way she did.

“I presume you didn’t eat lunch. Do you want to stop and I’ll pick you up a sandwich? Anywhere but the coffee shop where the picture was taken will be fine. No one is following us.”

“Please,” she says.

“Does he often call you up like that?”

“Like what?”

“For a lunchtime get-together.”

“Sometimes. It sounds like you don’t approve.”

“None of my business as you put it. I just want to know how often I’ll be hanging around outside that apartment.” Like hell I do, but I’m not going to let her see I’m bothered.

“Two or three times a week usually. Less if he’s busy.”

“What if you’re busy?” I want to keep her busy, keep her away from him.

“He doesn’t like it if I’m busy.”

“I bet he doesn’t,” I think, but I don’t say it.
